I have over 35 years of professional experience in the shipping industry, having
worked as a Merchant Navy Navigating Officer and with the Indian Coast Guard. I
took premature retirement from the Indian Coast Guard at the rank of Commandant.
My extensive experience in all aspects of the Coast Guard organizations and
instrumental role in procurement of important defense equipment has helped me
gain valuable knowledge and skills. I also worked as Head of Security Marine Tank
Farm and Port at Reliance Jamnagar Super site in Leader Cadre, which has given me
exposure to manufacturing, logistics, shipping, and modern trade operations.
I hold a Second Mate (FG) equivalent to Bachelor of Science (Nautical Science) degree,
a Bachelor of Arts degree, and a Master of Science in Defence Studies and Strategy. I
have completed various courses related to handling government finance, global
maritime distress and safety system, ISPS code and PFSO certified course, and more.
I am well-versed with Windows Office, Power Point, and Excel, and have basic
computer knowledge.
Throughout my career, I have built a strong network and connections with people in
key positions in MMD, SCI, Shipping Ministry, private shipping corporations, and
senior officers at the Indian Coast Guard and other armed forces. My experience and
connections have helped me stay abreast with the latest trends and technologies
used in the shipping and defense industries.
I take pride in my ability to negotiate and coordinate successfully, as demonstrated
by my success in transferring land from the State Government/Paradeep Port
Authorities to Coast Guard. I have received numerous awards, commendations, and
accolades for my diligent work.
